About the Role
Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council is recruiting an Experienced Social Worker to join our Children Looked After (CLA) Team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled practitioner who is passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people in care. The CLA Teams play a vital role in ensuring children experience stability, safety, and positive life chances while in care and as they prepare for adulthood.
Key Responsibilities
* Hold responsibility for a caseload of Children Looked After, ensuring high-quality care planning and review
* Work closely with Fostering Services to identify and support suitable foster placements
* Collaborate with the Adoption Team to match children with adoptive families where adoption is the agreed care plan
* Chair and contribute to regular care planning meetings alongside partner professionals
* Work closely with education colleagues to develop and maintain Personal Education Plans (PEPs)
* Support young people to prepare for the transition to adult life, promoting independence and positive outcomes
* Maintain clear, timely, and high-quality case recording in line with statutory requirements

Essential Requirements
* Qualified Social Worker status
* Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom
* Completion of a Criminal Convictions Declaration
