We area small welcoming and dedicated team providing high quality Safeguarding adviceand assurances across Navigo. The team consists of Safeguarding Adults andSafeguarding Children's Practitioners and so there will be both an opportunityand expectation to enhance and learn skills in the Safeguarding of Children, inorder to support the team as a whole.

Main duties of the job
You must be able to provide evidence based expertadvice and support to all clinical and non clinical staff within Navigo.
Act as a visible and knowledgeable resource across theorganisation.
Deliver effective safeguarding training and ensure that staffhave an understanding of and are able to apply the principles of the MentalCapacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, alongside the safeguardingprinciples.
Act as a point of contact for internal staff and outside partneragencies on all safeguarding matters.
Be able to deputise for the Named Nurse when applicable
Advocate for Adults atRisk and ensure that Making Safeguarding Personal is key to all safeguardingactivities.
Support compliance with Local and National Safeguarding Standards,Audit and Quality improvements.

Person Specification
Experience
* Experience working as a Band 6 or equivalent within a Safeguarding role with significant knowledge around Safeguarding legislation, national and local safeguarding policies, processes and procedures.
* Experience of attending and contributing within multi-agency meetings.
* Experience of working with the Care Act 2014 including a sound knowledge of Section 42 Enquiries, the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
* Good working knowledge of the difference types of abuse and recognising and responding to abuse/neglect.
* Good knowledge of Making Safeguarding Personal
* Experience of working within mental health and understands the Mental Health Act.
* Has experience of the development of training and is able to deliver training.
* Working Knowledge of Safeguarding procedures in relation to Children.
* Has experience of Safeguarding Adults Reviews (SAR), Learning from lives and deaths people with a learning disability and autistic people (LEDER) and Domestic Abuse Related Death Reviews (DARDR)
Qualifications
* Current registration with a statutory professional body.
* Degree in a professionally related subject or equivalent.
* Evidence of on-going professional development.
* Working at Safeguarding Adults and Children - Level 3.
* Masters degree in nursing/research or other appropriate health related subject.
* Best Interest Assessor Qualification (BIA).
* Trained to Safeguarding Level 4.
Skills & Attributes
* Excellent communication skills to be able to give advice and guidance on a variety of Safeguarding issues to staff of all levels.
* Have the ability to challenge practices in a professional manner when needed.
* Utilise IT skills - including the use of electronic health records, Microsoft packages - including Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, Work and Excel.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build personal and professional credibility at all levels of the organisation, ensuring confidentiality is always maintained.
* Self-motivated, enthusiastic leader and a good team player
* with the ability to motivate colleagues/peers and be able to work on own initiative and facilitate the work of others.
* Ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines and work under pressure to meet those deadlines.
* Ability to plan and deliver audit programmes and support others in auditing their practice.
* Have experience of using SystmOne.
* Competent in supporting staff in undertaking Domestic Abuse Stalking & Harassment Assessments.
