Overview
We are seeking a strategic and commercially driven HR Director to lead the people agenda within a fast-paced asset management environment. This role will partner closely with senior leadership to align human capital strategy with business objectives, ensuring the attraction, development, and retention of top investment and corporate talent.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
* Develop and deliver the firm's HR strategy aligned to business growth plans
* Act as a trusted advisor to the Executive Committee and senior stakeholders
* Drive organisational design and workforce planning across investment and support functions
Talent & Performance
* Lead talent acquisition strategy for front-office (investment professionals) and corporate functions
* Oversee performance management frameworks, succession planning, and leadership development
* Build a high-performance culture aligned to the firm's values and investment philosophy
Compensation & Benefits
* Design and oversee competitive compensation structures, including bonus and carried interest frameworks
* Ensure alignment with market benchmarks within asset and investment management
* Partner with Finance on remuneration governance and budgeting
Employee Relations & Governance
* Provide expert guidance on complex employee relations issues
* Ensure compliance with UK employment law and regulatory expectations (e.g. FCA considerations such as SMCR)
* Maintain robust HR policies and governance frameworks
Culture & Engagement
* Drive employee engagement initiatives across global teams (if applicable)
* Champion diversity, equity & inclusion strategies
* Lead internal communications and culture transformation initiatives
HR Operations & Transformation
* Oversee HR systems, data, and reporting (HRIS)
* Lead HR transformation projects, including digitalisation and process improvement
* Manage HR budgets and external vendor relationships
Key Requirements
* Proven HR leadership experience within Asset Management, Private Equity, or broader Financial Services
* Strong understanding of front-office dynamics (portfolio managers, analysts, deal teams)
* Deep expertise in compensation structures within investment environments
* Experience operating at Board / Executive Committee level
* Strong knowledge of UK employment law and regulatory frameworks
* Demonstrated ability to operate in a high-performance, partnership-driven culture
Preferred Background
* Experience in a mid-sized to large asset manager or investment firm
* Exposure to international HR environments
* CIPD qualified (or equivalent)
