About The Role Balfour Beatty Regional Civils is proud to be delivering a major multidisciplinary flood defence scheme in Lowestoft, Suffolk and we’re looking for a Section Engineer to play a pivotal role in delivering this vital infrastructure project. This scheme is designed to reduce flood risk to thousands of homes and businesses while improving resilience and environmental sustainability in the region. The project involves a complex mix of civil, mechanical and electrical engineering works, to include Construction and reinforcement of flood embankments Installation of pumping station and Integration of mechanical & electrical (M&E) systems What you'll be doing As a Section Engineer You Will Support the Project Manager and lead and coordinate engineering activities for a specific section of the project Oversee site operations and sub contractors in line with programme requirements Ensure quality assurance and compliance with specifications and safety protocols. Collaborate with design teams, subcontractors, and project managers Support the planning, setting out, and execution of complex works including flood defences and M&E systems Maintain clear records and documentation in line with project procedures. Who we're looking for You Will Have The Following Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering or related discipline Proven experience working on complex civil engineering projects – flood defence, water, infrastructure, or M&E exposure preferred Strong working knowledge of CDM, ITPs, Health & Safety, and Quality standards Capable of leading a team and managing subcontractor performance Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills CSCS card, SMSTS or equivalent qualifications are advantageous.
