Our school in Wakefield have almost 20 openings and we are deeply committed to providing an inclusive education that caters to the unique needs of every student. As an SEN Teacher with a specialism in Autism, you will be integral to ensuring that students receive the tailored support they need to succeed. The Role:
In this role, you will work directly with students who have Autism and associated learning challenges, helping them overcome barriers to their education. Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Individualised Support: Develop and implement personalised learning strategies to help students with Autism access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
2. Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess student progress and provide insightful feedback to parents and colleagues to support their academic and social-emotional growth.
3. Emotional Support: Foster a nurturing and secure environment, offering emotional guidance and encouragement to help students manage their anxieties and sensory sensitivities.
4. Communication: Ensure effective communication with teachers, parents, and other professionals involved in each student’s educational journey.
5. Inclusion: Advocate for inclusivity within the school community, ensuring that students with Autism feel a sense of belonging and support.
Requirements:
• Relevant experience as an SEN Teacher, particularly with students on the Autism spectrum.
• Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help students with Autism succeed.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Adaptability and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Previous experience in supporting students with Autism is highly advantageous.
