Role Overview
We are seeking a kind, empathetic and reliable Community Support Worker to support individuals living in the community across Cambridge and surrounding areas with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs. You will play a vital role in promoting independence, dignity and wellbeing while delivering person-centred support tailored to each individual.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide high-quality, person-centred support to individuals with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs
* Support clients with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation and maintaining their home environment
* Encourage independence, choice and community inclusion
* Support individuals to attend appointments, activities and social opportunities
* Follow individual care plans and risk assessments at all times
* Maintain accurate and timely documentation
* Work flexibly across weekdays, evenings and weekends
* Communicate effectively with colleagues, families and other professionals
Essential Requirements
* Minimum 6 months’ experience in the care sector
* Caring, compassionate and empathetic nature
* Reliable, hardworking and committed to delivering high-quality care
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable adults
Desirable Requirements
* Full UK driving licence (drivers are an advantage)
* Experience supporting people with learning disabilities, autism or mental health needs
* Understanding of person-centred care and positive behaviour support
