Airport Engineer - Newcastle Airport
About the role:
Working as an IT Airport Engineer you'll provide and maintain continuity of service for all components of the airport passenger processing system and resolve a range of technical issues which may occur.
Key Accountabilities
1. Carry out regular routine and preventative maintenance on the range of passenger processing equipment within the airport.
2. Respond to customer incidents and service requests assigned by the Global Service Desk / Line Manager. Troubleshoot and resolve within SLA. Airline host and connectivity issues.
3. Maintain a high level of communication at all time with both colleagues and senior members of staff and provide timely updates to the Global Service Desk as required. Updating call details in a timely manner.
4. Escalate any issues relating to incident resolution in a timely manner to ensure that customer SLAs can still be met.
5. Identify any spares required and advise the Global Service Desk / line manager accordingly to ensure that the customer incident can be updated.
6. Carry out regular "floor-walking" and pro-active line of sight checks to identify and resolve any issues before they are raised as incidents through the Global Service Desk.
What You Need:
7. Experience of Airline / Airport industry and knowledge of airport operations
8. Computer knowledge / understanding of operating systems, Microsoft Desktop software (Windows 2010, 2016), practical working knowledge of Network Architecture and IT hardware connectivity.
9. Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and adapt to any new change or situation. Able to work alone unsupervised.
10. Good verbal and written communication skills, English.
11. Excellent customer service skills.
12. Full UK driving licence and own vehicle
13. 5 Years working history which can be referenced for airside clearance checks.
Physical Requirements:
14. Able to lift or push 20-40 kilograms of equipment if needed.
15. Able to stand or kneel for extended periods of time.
16. Able to use mechanical tools.
Work Details:
17. Schedule: 3 on 3 off shift pattern from 06:00-18:00

We offer £23,809.50 per annum + £160 shift allowance per month + £20 on-call rate
