Trafford Elective Surgical Hub (TESH) is a newly established service aimed to increase surgical capacity, while embracing the HPL programme to help reduce the backlog of patients waiting for planning operations. The hub provides elective services across several specialties and operates nine theatres with recovery areas; two more theatres are under construction to expand services. We are closely linked with Ward 12 (surgical admission unit) and provide a mix of day case and inpatient care.
You will support the Team Managers to ensure the delivery of high-quality care and support the wider nursing team as an advocate and role model.

Main duties of the job
* Be responsible for the assessment and delivery of care for the perioperative patient, implementing and continually evaluating their nursing care to optimise outcomes.
* Participate in the teaching/supervision of junior staff and in teaching students on basic and post-basic courses.
* Maintain personal and professional development. Participate in effective utilization of resources.
* Act in accordance with the NMC/HCPC Professional Code of Conduct.

Person Specification
Education/Qualification
* Qualification in O.D.P. or RGN
Experience
* Recent experience working in a theatre environment
* Experience in other clinical areas
* Experience of providing care in either acute or community settings
Knowledge
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to organise workload and delegate tasks appropriately
* Supports and contributes to team approaches
* Problem solving and ability to analyse and resolve issues
* Decision making within the scope of the role and awareness of limits
* Ability to collaborate with patients/children and families
* Ability to negotiate and work through problems with patients/children/families and the MDT
