THE ROLE & TEAM We are looking for an experienced Employment Solicitor to join our highly regarded Employment Team, where you will support the firm’s clients by delivering high‑quality, pragmatic employment law advice across a broad range of contentious and non‑contentious matters. The role combines hands‑on advisory work, tribunal litigation and strategic support to clients, working closely with colleagues across the firm to deliver commercially focused solutions. We pride ourselves on providing exceptional client service, technical excellence and clear, practical advice. This is a varied and engaging role, supporting clients from day‑to‑day HR matters through to complex, high‑value and sensitive employment issues. Working with a diverse client base across multiple sectors, you will contribute directly to the firm’s strong reputation in employment law. This role will be based in our Manchester office, with hybrid working available to support work‑life balance. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Manage a varied caseload of contentious and non‑contentious employment matters Advise employers on day‑to‑day employment law issues, including disciplinaries, grievances and performance management Manage Employment Tribunal claims from inception to conclusion Draft and advise on contracts of employment, settlement agreements, policies and procedures Advise on redundancies, restructures and TUPE matters Provide clear, commercial and pragmatic advice to clients Support corporate transactions and wider commercial matters as required Build and maintain strong client relationships Support and mentor junior team members where appropriate Contribute to business development and market positioning Deliver internal and external training sessions as required ABOUT YOU Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales 4 years’ PQE with strong experience in employment law Proven experience advising employers on a wide range of employment matters Confident managing your own caseload and complex matters independently Strong Employment Tribunal experience Excellent drafting skills and technical knowledge Commercially aware with strong communication skills A collaborative team player with a proactive approach Keen to contribute to the continued growth and reputation of the team BENEFITS Competitive Salary Flexible approach to working hours Hybrid working (2 days on site) Bupa/ Medicash Discretionary bonus opportunities Pension scheme Life Insurance & Income Protection Insurance 25 days Annual Leave plus flex bank holidays (increasing with service) Option to buy 10 additional days annual leave each year 2 My Days (in addition to your holiday entitlement) Additional discretionary annual leave days Enhanced Maternity, Paternity & Adoption Leave Career Development Opportunities Wellbeing and Mental Health Benefit (24/7 Employment Assistance Program & Support) Agencies: We are not accepting CVs for this role as we are aiming to fill it directly.
