Job Title: Children's Safeguarding & Child Protection Social Worker
Location: Oldham Council
Salary:
1. Social Worker (Grade 7): £37, 938 - £41,511
2. Experienced Social Worker (Grade 8): £41,511 - £45,718
3. £2,000 Retention Payment
Description:
Oldham Council is looking for 17 experienced and committed Children's Social Workers to join our Safeguarding & Child Protection (CP) Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking, supportive team that is dedicated to improving the lives of children and families.

Responsibilities:
4. Undertake assessments and develop Care & Support Plans for children and families in need of safeguarding and protection.
5. Respond to crisis situations, using appropriate interventions to safeguard children at risk.
6. Manage complex caseloads, working closely with multi-agency professionals to deliver high-quality support.
7. Prepare reports for court proceedings, case conferences, and reviews, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards.
8. Advocate for children and families, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met.
9. Contribute to a learning culture, sharing skills and mentoring less experienced colleagues.
Requirements:
10. Qualifications: Degree in Social Work and registration with Social Work England.
11. Experience: Minimum of 2 years' post-qualification experience, ideally in safeguarding/child protection, but we welcome applications from those with experience in other areas such as Assessment & Intervention.
12. Skills: Strong assessment, risk management, and decision-making skills.
13. Knowledge: A thorough understanding of child protection legislation, policies, and procedures.
14. Other Requirements: A full driving licence or ability to travel across Oldham.
