Alternative Provisions Support Worker
Location: Newton Abbot
Hours: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm

Are you passionate about supporting young people who thrive outside traditional classroom environments? Do you enjoy the outdoors and have a practical, hands‑on approach to learning? We are recruiting for a committed Alternative Provisions Support Worker for a specialist setting in the Newton Abbot area.
About the Role
This role involves supporting young people with a range of SEN needs in a bespoke alternative learning environment. The provision delivers education through outdoor learning, practical activities, and tailored interventions designed to re-engage students.
You will be responsible for:
1. Supporting young people 1:1 or in small groups
2. Helping deliver outdoor, practical, and activity‑based sessions
3. Using trade or hands‑on skills to engage learners
4. Transporting students to activities using a company vehicle
5. Maintaining a safe, calm, and encouraging environment
6. Working as part of a supportive, experienced team
Requirements
We are looking for someone who has:
7. Experience working with SEN learners (essential)
8. A full UK driving licence (essential)
9. A passion for outdoor learning and practical activities
10. Some trade-based or hands‑on skills (desirable)
11. Age 25+ (due to insurance requirements for driving a company vehicle)
12. An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply
