Overview
Job Description A North London local authority is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist Team Manager to lead their busy, in-house therapy-led Reablement Service. This service supports residents in regaining independence following hospital discharge and for those in the community who require short-term support. As Team Manager, you will oversee a team of Occupational Therapists and work closely with the CQC Registered Manager and OT Assistant Team Manager to deliver outcome-focused, strengths-based interventions that promote independence and reduce reliance on long-term care.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage a team of Occupational Therapists within a therapy-led Reablement Service.
* Work in partnership with the Registered Manager and Assistant OT Manager to deliver effective, safe, and responsive short-term reablement support.
* Supervise OT staff, providing leadership, guidance, and professional development.
* Oversee triage of incoming referrals, ensuring timely and appropriate allocation of cases.
* Monitor and ensure in-house care capacity is used efficiently to meet demand.
* Promote a culture of person-centred, strengths-based, and outcome-focused practice.
* Ensure compliance with statutory responsibilities, clinical governance, and best practice standards.
* Contribute to service planning and development to ensure continuous improvement.
Qualifications
* Diploma/BSc in Occupational Therapy
* HCPC Registration
* Proven experience working within a reablement or rehabilitation setting
* Previous team leadership or supervisory experience
* Strong knowledge of short-term interventions, hospital discharge, and community-based support
* Excellent communication, triage, and caseload management skills
* Enhanced DBS (we can assist)
* Eligibility to work in the UK
* Driving licence and access to a vehicle desirable
