Country Style Foods is a modern-craft, artisan, family-run bakery business, with a history of over 150 years in the industry. We have been producing the highest quality bakery products for over 60 years, supplying leading supermarkets and food service customers throughout the UK.
Country Style Foods are growing and having secured new business, we are now recruiting for additional QA Technicians to join our dedicated and friendly teams on both Days and Nights. As a member of the Technical team, you will provide valuable support across the shift, supporting production to ensure we follow the correct processes and procedures expected by our customers, carry out tasks including day to day auditing of the site and production areas (GMP, CCP etc.), routine calibration and sampling checks as required by the site Quality Manual.
Main duties
* Check all lines are working to current QAS and customer specifications;
* Monitor the quality of product from all lines by patrol and inspection;
* Ensure that products from all lines are audited daily and any non-conformances are brought to the attention of the shift Team Leader/Manager;
* Carry out all good manufacturing practice (GMP), Critical Control Point (CCP), glass etc., audits as per the schedule;
* Carry out all sampling plans (product, micro swabbing, etc.) as required;
* Ensure that Quality Assessments and Taste Panels are taking place to the agreed frequency;
* To ensure that all diligence paperwork is audited and corrective actions are generated as required to prevent reoccurrences of any issues highlighted;
* Check the quality of products against specification, colour standards and the standard of workmanship;
* To carry out calibration of food safety equipment (temperature probes, scales) as per the required schedules. Report any faults to the Engineering department;
* To monitor product weights, temperatures and quality standards to the required schedules;
* Ensure that all team members pursue safe working practices and all accident and reporting procedures, explaining improvements to support training;
* Ensure you promote a culture of high hygiene standards and that all team members maintain.
Skills & Competencies
* Level 2 Food Safety (minimum)
* Level 2 HACCP
* Ability to work under pressure
* Good communication and team work ethic
* Attention to detail
This is not an exhaustive list of duties and you may be required to undertake any other reasonable request as required by your manager. In addition, you will undertake any training that the company deems necessary that may assist you to effectively carry out the above responsibilities.
