Farrow & Ball - Technical Operator, Wimborne, Dorset We have a number of exciting opportunities for an enthusiastic individuals to join our Operations team in Wimborne, Dorset as a Technical Operator. We are offering this position on a full - time, permanent basis. We have a number of positions available across our Warehouse, Paint and Wallpaper factories - on application you will be asked for any preferences and shift patterns (5am-1pm, 6am-2pm, 10am - 6pm or 1pm-9pm). Farrow & Ball is a luxury British lifestyle brand that prides itself in creating richly pigmented paint and handcrafted wallpaper, using print methods dating back 300 years and the finest quality ingredients. The key to our success is the people behind the paint: from the team handcrafting each tin to showroom staff to support functions, our shared passion ensures customers have a positive, engaging experience at every stage of their journey with us. A Technical Operator plays a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of processes within their department. They are responsible for the efficient operation of their area, monitoring output, and ensuring the performance of their team to the defined standard. Working closely with the other Technical Operators and team members to uphold safety standards, maintain efficient output, ensure resources are shared when required to support all teams, and support continuous improvement initiatives within the production and warehouse environment. What we expect from you as a Technical Operator Key Responsibilities: To be accountable for the effectiveness of the area which you work on and responsible for managing the relevant processes To be able to contribute to and understand the critical success factors (CSF’s) for the process you work on, displayed to management through daily improvement (MDI) boards. To focus your efforts on delivering success against the targets within the CSFs and join the daily huddle to declare the results of the previous day MDI boards. To complete process control documentation (PCD), including but not limited to short interval control (SIC), to be able to underpin the reporting for the MDI boards. To escalate issues or problems that may impact success to your line manager directly and via the concern, cause and countermeasure (3C) sheets on the MDI board. To use digital systems and software that drive or are a key dependency for your process. To be prepared to train others in aspects of your process. Maintain a preparedness to be trained and coached as part of your personal development – this may be laterally, i.e. other processes or vertically, i.e. career development. To provide clear and concise information to colleagues within the business as required. To use tools and techniques within a wider continuous improvement (CI) context when trained and coached in their use, to support improving our processes or working environment – for example 6S, which is a method of workplace organization, to maintain a clean, organised and tidy working environment or in root cause analysis (RCA) tools and techniques. You may be asked to perform other tasks commensurate with your role’s general responsibilities and accountabilities.
