Vehicle Damage Assessor/Workshop Controller required in Southampton, Hampshire Basic Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum bonus Monday - Friday 08:00 - 17:00 No weekends Independent Bodyshop & Insurance Approved Centre Our client, an independent family run accident repair business based in Southampton, is currently seeking an experienced Automotive Vehicle Damage Assessor/Workshop Controller to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing estimates using Audatex, liaising with customers and insurance companies as well as creating job cards for the bodyshop. This is a pivotal role for the business, assisting customers get their cars back on the road quickly, and ensuring that their vehicle is repaired to a high standard forging firm customer relationships to attract repeat business. Health & Wellbeing programme. Company Pension. Future Development Opportunities. Duties of a Vehicle Damage Assessor/Workshop Controller with our client: Undertake the inspection of damaged vehicles. Assessing the full extent of the damage, costs of repair and timeframes. Identify the correct prescribed repair method and prepare, record, and maintain records of electronic and manual estimates. You will then liaise effectively with insurance companies to obtain their authority to repair the vehicle at the costs estimated. You will also effectively liaise with customer’s, engineers and technicians to explain and ensure they understand the repair methodology. Be able to produce work that complies with the highest technical and quality standards and, above all, helps deliver on their service commitment to customers Produce job cards and allocate work to the bodyshop. What our client expects of their Vehicle Damage Assessor/Workshop Controller: Ideally you are qualified to NVQ level 3/City & Guilds or ATA qualified with a solid Bodyshop background – whether the job at hand is routine or more complex, you will know just how to solve it. An in-date Audatex certification is essential Experience with Autoflow would be highly beneficial however not essential as full training will be provided. You come from a fast-paced background – you know how to work in a standard job time structure with a focus on producing compliant, high-quality work.
