Inside Construction have been appointed to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a main/management contractor who partners with companies across the globe to provide sustainable projects. They work with clients in the pharmaceutical, life sciences, nuclear, power and aviation industries across the UK and offer a management service for new build, refurbishment, and maintenance projects.

The role
The main purpose of the role is to be responsible for the financial delivery of the project, offering commercial expertise for the full project life cycle. This is a 3 year framework which may extend to 5 years. You will manage a capital spend budget of 15-25m per year including new build/extensions, refurbishment, and maintenance contracts. Contracts will fall under NEC option 4.
It is the Senior Quantity Surveyors responsibly to ensure projects are procured and delivered within budget – seeking to minimise costs and ensure legal regulations are adhered to. This role has a focus on procurement and contract administration. It will include supply chain development, procurement strategy, tendering and evaluation, negotiation, and contract management.
Reporting into the Managing Surveyor you will manage numerous contracts for one site, ranging from 5k – 5m.
Key responsibilities
* Setting up and managing new framework
* To administer the process of procuring equipment, contracts, subcontracts and services.
* Estimating costs for projects within capital spend budget.
* To work closely with project teams and customers delivering a service to fully meet their requirements and develop repeat work through excellent performance and quality.
* To assist the review of main contracts and provide advice to project teams.
* Multiple contract cost control and reporting
* Valuations and final accounting
* Measure progress and variations.
* Issuing notices of the contract – NEC-4/EPCM
* Liaising with operations site team and other stakeholders within the business – building strong relationships
* Monthly CVR
The Person
This opportunity would suit an experienced Surveyor who can work independently. The company offers a hybrid working model so it’s important you can work under your own steam with little supervision. This opportunity could quickly develop into becoming the commercial lead for the project so having ambition to progress your career would be desirable. It’s essential you have a degree in quantity surveying and at least 10 years industry experience, NEC - 4 and EPCM form of contract. Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors desirable. You will need excellent cost management and reporting skills and be a strong negotiator. You will be managing multiple contracts so it's important you can absorb complex information and manage your time accordingly.
