Senior Quality Assurance Engineer 12-Month Contract | Glasgow (Hybrid)

We are supporting a leading organisation within a highly regulated, high-hazard industry as they seek an experienced Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join their Delivery Business Unit on a 12-month contract. This role is pivotal in ensuring an effective assurance programme is delivered across major projects and operations.
The successful candidate will act as a key support to the Quality Manager, deputising where required, and providing expert guidance on quality systems, standards, and compliance across the business and supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
As Senior Quality Assurance Engineer, you will:
Support the Quality Manager in the review and implementation of project Quality Plans.
Provide coaching, advice and hands-on support to project teams on quality activities.
Guide the organisation in planning to meet industry and project-specific quality standards.
Lead and deliver independent assurance activities, reporting on compliance and recommending corrective or preventative actions.
Review performance against quality plans and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Identify risks and opportunities across processes, products and services.
Contribute to organisational risk and opportunity processes at business, department and project level.
Assess and improve supplier quality performance, collaborating to deliver sustainable supply chain assurance.
Review and approve supplier quality documentation (e.g., QCPs, weld procedures, NDE procedures) in line with project needs and customer expectations.
Apply quantitative and qualitative measurement techniques to assess achievement of quality goals.
Support preparation and analysis of quality performance data, identifying trends and recommending improvements.
Review tender, enquiry and contract documents to ensure customer quality requirements are fully captured.
Demonstrate strong leadership behaviours, promoting safety, wellbeing, inclusion and high performance.
Manage and develop team members, ensuring effective communication and resource planning.Experience & Qualifications Essential:
Degree in Science or Engineering (or equivalent qualification).
Strong experience in a Quality Assurance role within the nuclear sector
Solid understanding and application of ISO 9001 (and ISO 17025 where relevant).
Ability to conduct thorough investigations using industry-recognised causal analysis tools.Desirable:
Chartered Member of the Quality Institute and active CPD.
Approved Auditor qualification or demonstrable auditing experience.
Experience within the nuclear sector or similar regulated industries.
Strong knowledge of sector-specific customer quality requirements.Additional Information
Hybrid working based in Glasgow.
Occasional travel may be required.
