This role is responsible for delivering high‑quality management information and insight that supports RMS operational performance, informs strategic decision‑making, and drives continuous improvement, while leading and developing a small team of analysts through operational and strategic change.

Key Responsibilities

* Deliver high‑quality management information and insight, ensuring accurate, timely reporting and clear analysis that supports operational performance, strategic objectives, and regulatory requirements
* Provide insight, commentary and recommendations to teams, stakeholders and governance forums, including the preparation of papers that inform operational decisions, strategic updates and change initiatives.

* Support forecasting and planning activities, working with operational and finance stakeholders on resource and financial forecasting to enable effective delivery against agreed plans and budgets.
* Lead, manage and develop the BI analyst team, setting direction, maintaining quality standards, allocating resources effectively and supporting capability development through feedback, coaching and change.

Job Functional Knowledge

The role requires substantial practical experience and a strong understanding of the procedures and concepts within their own discipline, alongside a broader working knowledge of related areas and how they operate within the wider business. Operating at an intermediate professional or first-line supervisory level, the role is accountable for the effective delivery of work through others.

Business Expertise

The role requires a sound understanding of their own team and how it works collaboratively with others across the organisation, with effectiveness dependent on recognising how different areas co‑ordinate to deliver shared objectives. The role demonstrates a strong awareness of stakeholder priorities, acts as a trusted technical or subject‑matter resource, stays current in their area of expertise, and consistently acts in line with the Firm’s values and Code of Conduct, actively contributing to continuous improvement of team processes.

Leadership

The role may involve task supervision, providing informal guidance, on‑the‑job support and day‑to‑day oversight to colleagues and new team members with line management of a small junior team. The role supports others to work independently, resolves issues with minimal supervision, and works collaboratively to foster strong team relationships and a positive team environment.

Problem Solving

The role requires strong attention to detail and sound evaluative judgement, drawing on the analysis of factual information, technical experience and established precedents to resolve problems. The role demonstrates a clear understanding of team priorities and how their contribution supports success, interprets situations that may involve ambiguity, knows when to seek guidance or escalate issues, and provides constructive feedback to support accurate decision‑making by others.

Nature of Impact

The role has a direct impact on team effectiveness through accountability for the quality, accuracy and timeliness of work delivered, with outcomes influencing the ability of others to perform effectively. The role proactively plans and organises work, anticipates and addresses delivery risks, builds strong collaborative relationships, and actively identifies and implements process improvements that enhance ways of working, efficiency and inclusion across the Firm.

Area of Impact

The role has a direct impact on the effectiveness of the immediate work team and may also influence closely connected teams where activities are interdependent within a wider value chain. The role takes ownership of ongoing personal development, stays current in their specialism and applies this learning in practice, provides on‑the‑job support and task‑specific training to new team members, and responds positively to changing priorities by developing skills in line with evolving requirements.

Interpersonal Skills

The role requires strong communication and diplomacy skills to effectively exchange complex and sensitive information, tailoring messages to suit different audiences and contexts. The role uses experience and knowledge to influence internal and external stakeholders, constructively challenge where appropriate, handle difficult conversations with confidence, and know when escalation is required, while actively listening, sharing information and proposing practical solutions.
