Description
Enva Specialist Scotland is one of the UK's leading Resource Management and Recycling Companies, with a reputation for innovation and creativity. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Nightshift Laboratory Chemist to join our team, based at our Paisley depot on a full-time, permanent basis.
Reporting to the Technical Manager, the successful applicant will participate in the analysis of inward, in-process, and outward materials, help to develop new or improved solutions, and share responsibility for general maintenance and calibration of Laboratory equipment and reagents.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out all Laboratory testing according to procedure
* Carry out Laboratory calibrations according to procedures
* Develop new processes and improve existing techniques
* Help keep the Laboratory and equipment clean and tidy
* Assist in carrying out Laboratory responsibilities in the plant
* Complete paperwork in a neat and tidy manner.
* To work on any technical R&D function as instructed by line management.
* Any further ad hoc duties as instructed by line management.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* Degree in Chemistry required
* Experience of working within a laboratory desirable
* Excellent communication skills (written and oral) with ability to communicate at all levels
* Strong IT skills including use of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
* A genuine and visible H&S understanding
* Flexible approach to working
* Self-motivated and resourceful
* Results orientated, with desire and tenacity to optimise performance
* Excellent organisational skills
* High level of numeracy and literacy
