Working for our organisation
We're an organisation that is improving continuously, driven by a determination to deliver care we're proud of and that our patients appreciate. We are no longer in special measures; we've opened two new theatres at our Elective Surgical Hub in King George Hospital (KGH). Our Chief Executive, Matthew Trainer, has been named the top CEO by the Health Service Journal.
We operate from two main sites - KGH in Goodmayes and Queen's Hospital in Romford. Our emergency departments serve over 330,000 visitors annually. We are campaigning for £35m to transform the A&E at Queen's and eliminate corridor care.
Our patients benefit from services like the Women's Health Hub in Ilford, an Ageing Well Centre in Hornchurch, and Community Diagnostic Centres (CDC) at Barking Community Hospital and St George's Health and Wellbeing Hub in Hornchurch. These CDCs operate 12 hours a day, 7 days a week, providing an additional 88,000 scans annually.
Our staff, over 8,000 from 146 countries, are diverse and many work flexibly. Over 400 staff are on Ofsted-accredited apprenticeship programs. We are proud to be a London Living Wage employer.
We are introducing an electronic patient record system to enhance staff workflow and patient care.
