The post holder is responsible for working to strict timescales to provide full paralegal support functions in all aspects of work of the Legal Services Department.
You will be responsible for the collation, preparation and distribution of a range of documentation for legal proceedings, logging new claims/inquests and the progress of claims/inquest on both Trust and NHSR claim management system.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will support all members of the Legal Services Department in delivering an in‑house legal service which contributes to the Quality Governance and Assurance Department by proactively.
Managing clinical and non‑clinical claims and inquests from commencement to conclusion implementing the Trust's policies and procedures to achieve the early, equitable and cost effective settlement of claims.

Person Specification
Education & Qualifications
* Good General Education
* Evidence of good numeracy and literacy
* GCSE - minimum level 5 including English and Maths
* ECDL or other recognised IT qualification
* Law degree
Experience & Knowledge
* Experience of at least 2 years working in NHS or law firm
* Evidence of previous admin or secretarial experience
* Experience of managing their own caseload
* Experience of handling confidential and sensitive information
* Experience / knowledge of patient record database eg. Lorenzo, Web V
Skills & Abilities
* Experience of Coroner's inquests and/or Civil Litigation
