About the role:

We have a great opportunity for a Process Technician to join our team at our Walton-on-Thames Water Treatment Site. You do not need a background in the Water industry; we welcome applications from candidates outside the sector, bringing fresh perspectives and ideas.

This role is an essential front-line position. You will work in all weather conditions, carrying out a range of tasks to ensure the essential functions of our water treatment works operate to maintain supply to customers and protect the environment. Planned preventive maintenance of equipment supports the operation of the plant.

What you’ll be doing as the Process Technician

* Carrying out scheduled planned maintenance work on plant and equipment in compliance with company standards and procedures to improve plant resilience.
* Operating and cleaning plant and equipment to ensure on-site operational and health and safety standards are maintained, as well as supplying wholesome drinking water to customers.
* Attending reactive jobs following plant and equipment failure.
* Keeping sites clean and tidy and undertaking safety and security checks.
* Always working safely and complying with all Health and Safety guidance and procedures.

Base Location: Walton-on-Thames - KT12 2EG

Working pattern: 38 hours, Monday–Friday 7:30 am – 3:36 pm, plus standby rota; payments can increase earnings upon completion of essential company training.

Requirements: You must hold a full UK driver’s Licence.

To thrive in this role, the essential criteria you’ll need are:

* Be a self-motivated individual who can immerse themselves in the team, with a disciplined, can-do attitude. The role can be demanding but rewarding.
* Take ownership of responding quickly to faults, be curious to understand the problem, and identify the best solution to resolve it the first time.
* Have good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with the team.
* Teamwork – We are one team with shared goals.
* Proactive – take the lead on recommendations and improvements around the site and communicate effectively.
* Must be prepared to be trained in safety procedures.
* Knowledge and awareness of health and safety standards.
* Full UK driver’s Licence.
