R&D Chemist – Permanent | Pembridge, Herefordshire
We’re currently seeking two R&D Chemists to join a leading manufacturer of high-performance building materials. This is a permanent position based in Pembridge, offering a fantastic opportunity to work on innovative projects focused on developing sustainable, energy-efficient materials for the construction industry.
About the Role
As an R&D Chemist, you’ll work closely with Production, Quality, Process, and Applications teams to drive product and process innovation. You’ll be involved in research, formulation, testing, and continuous improvement of polyurethane, polyisocyanurate, and phenolic insulation materials.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the development and improvement of insulation products and processes.
* Conduct laboratory trials and analysis to ensure products meet performance standards.
* Liaise with cross-functional teams to implement technical solutions.
* Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
* Contribute to ongoing innovation and product optimisation initiatives.
Requirements
* Degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, or Chemical/Process Engineering.
* Previous R&D experience (ideally within polymers, coatings, or insulation materials).
* Local candidates preferred or those willing to relocate to Pembridge.
* Good understanding of COSHH regulations.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational abilities.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
