Make a Meaningful Impact - One Student at a Time as an Outreach Tutor

We are seeking compassionate, dedicated Outreach Tutors and Teachers to deliver one-to-one tutoring to young people with SEMH or SEN needs not currently in education in East Essex. This highly rewarding role as Outreach Tutor supports students who are currently unable to access mainstream education due to a variety of needs including anxiety, behavioural challenges, SEND, SEMH, or those at risk of exclusion.

Working in pupils' homes, local libraries, or schools, you'll have the opportunity to help students build confidence, re-engage with learning, and achieve meaningful educational outcomes in core subjects such as English, Maths, PSHE, as well as through interventions and mentoring.

Responsibilities:

* Outreach Tutors deliver tailored, one-to-one sessions for students ranging from EYFS to Year 11 (up to GCSE/Functional Skills level). Students are mainstream, SEN or SEMH.
* Building positive, trusting relationships with students and families.
* Adapting teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs and styles.
* Supporting not only academic growth but also emotional resilience and confidence.
* Keeping accurate session records and progress notes.
* Incorporating a variety of learning tools and resources to enhance engagement.

Requirements:

* Qualified or experienced Outreach Tutors/Teachers with a strong grasp of Maths and Literacy.
* Proven experience working with young people, particularly those with SEND, SEMH, or non-traditional learning needs.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Empathy, resilience, and a genuine commitment to student success.
* Flexibility and initiative in adapting to different environments and student needs.
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply - support provided).
* The right to work in the UK.

Benefits:

* Flexible hours that work around your availability - part-time or full-time during school hours (typically between 9:30am and 3:30pm).
* Immediate starts available with ongoing referrals across All Essex areas not just Clacton and Colchester Areas
* Weekly pay with various contract options (umbrella or paye).
* Access to free CPD courses, including Safeguarding, Behaviour Management, and Use of Reasonable Force.
* Consistent work - as one student transitions back into mainstream education, a new placement is offered where possible.
* Lesson plans / support in place
* Laptop and phone provided
* Work directly with a service not an agency (LT Support are the exclusive recruitment partner for two services in East of England and will match you to your best option). Various benefits depending on service.
