Purpose of Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Facilities Manager to oversee facilities services at RAF Brize Norton.
Job Description
In this role, you will manage PPMs, monitor helpdesk activity, close down work orders, and maintain accurate records, while ensuring compliance with health, safety, and CDM regulations. You will also supervise engineers and contractors, track KPIs, and respond to operational issues such as power outages, helping to maintain site readiness and service reliability. This is a hands-on, high-responsibility role in a dynamic operational environment, offering the chance to make a real impact on the efficiency and effectiveness of facilities management at a key RAF base.
Responsibilities
•Work closely with dedicated helpdesk and ensure timely resolution of service requests.
•Oversee the allocation and scheduling of PPMs (Planned Preventative Maintenance) and reactive work orders.
•Exercise indirect line management of engineers, monitoring performance, compliance, and KPIs.
•Control contractors on site, including supervision of rounds, service delivery, and completion of paperwork.
•Close down work orders efficiently and maintain accurate records of all maintenance activity.
•Monitor site operations, including understanding and responding to power outages and other critical infrastructure issues.
•Ensure compliance with health & safety standards, CDM requirements, and company procedures.
Essential Qualifications/Skills
•Proven experience in facilities management, ideally in a large or operational environment.
•Strong organisational and leadership skills, with experience managing engineers and contractors.
•Knowledge of PPM scheduling, maintenance planning, and work order management.
•Understanding of health & safety requirements, CDM regulations, and risk management.
•Familiarity with operational challenges, such as site power outages and IT integration in facilities management.
•SMS TS certification is desirable but not essential.
•Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to drive performance through KPI monitoring.
