Healthcare Assistant - Theatre The Chiltern Hospital 37.5 Hours & Permanent Salary: £24,434.00 per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification) The Chiltern Hospital in Great Missenden is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country. We have an opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join their team of staff in the Theatre department. This is a Full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern. Duties of this role include: Assist in delivering safe and effective care across the theatre department, supporting patients throughout their surgical pathway. Prepare theatres for procedures, including equipment checks, stock preparation, and ensuring the environment is clean and ready. Support with the safe movement and positioning of patients pre- and post-operatively under direction of registered practitioners. Engage with patients in a respectful, dignified, and empathetic manner, helping to alleviate anxiety and ensure comfort. Communicate appropriately with members of the multidisciplinary team, contributing to smooth handovers and coordinated care. Act as an advocate for patients, raising safeguarding or care concerns with courage and in line with organisational procedures. Applicants should meet the following criteria: Previous experience working in a clinical or healthcare support role. Good verbal and written communication skills with a compassionate, patient-centred approach. Willingness to undertake training and competency development in theatre-specific care. Understanding of infection control, safeguarding, and basic health and safety principles.
