Youth Worker (Fixed Term)

The Youth Work Service in Dumfries and Galloway is offering an opportunity for adults with experience in working with young people to join an innovative and award-winning youth work team. The team delivers a range of informal learning programmes across Dumfries & Galloway.
You will be required to work 10 hours per week, 52.14 weeks per year, delivering group work programmes with a mental health focus in various locations across Stewartry.
This post is fixed term until March 31, 2026.
This position may be suitable for secondment. Agreement from your line manager must be sought before applying.
You should be motivated and interested in working with young people aged 12+ in an informal setting. Experience in youth work or strong interpersonal skills are desirable.
This challenging and stimulating role is part of a wider team developing and supporting creative youth activities across Dumfries and Galloway.
All necessary training will be provided.
A current driving licence is essential. If a disability prevents holding a licence, consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.
The role requires evening and weekend work, with additional pay included in the salary.
This post is classified as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and Protected Adults under the PVG Scheme (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will need to join or update their PVG scheme before employment is confirmed.
Applicants who have resided outside the UK in the last 5 years will need to provide a police record check from the relevant authorities in their country of residence.
