Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £23,557 and £25,849 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 27 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, People's pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

About the role:
We are currently seeking a Technician in Electrical Installation to join our Construction department at The Bedford College Group
As a Technician, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
* Workshop Support & Maintenance - Assist lecturers and trainers in Electrical Installations and wider Construction areas, ensuring tools, equipment, and facilities are safe, secure, and ready for use.
* Stock & Equipment Management - Develop systems for inventory control, equipment sign-out, and ordering supplies; monitor budgets and report any projected overspend.
* Health & Safety Compliance - Maintain a clean, hazard-free workshop, conduct risk and COSHH assessments, and ensure operations meet current safety regulations.
* Student & Staff Support - Support learners in practical sessions, manufacture teaching aids, and uphold college policies on discipline, safeguarding, and inclusion.
* College-Wide Engagement - Participate in marketing events, training, and development activities; contribute to site security and promote the college's values and reputation.
About you:
* Qualifications & Training - Holds a Level 2 NVQ/Diploma in a construction trade, GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent), and is willing to gain First Aid and Level 2 English/Maths if not already held.
* Industry Experience & Knowledge - Brings experience in the electrical industry, understands safe working practices and construction trades, and can maintain tools, equipment, and stock inventories.
* Professionalism & Values - Demonstrates high performance, self-motivation, and alignment with values such as student focus, respect, openness, and honesty, while promoting the organisation's reputation.
