Procurement Engineer
Location: Congleton - This is a hybrid role which will allow you to split your time between home and the Congleton office.

You'll break new ground by:
* Early Procurement Involvement - Active involvement with portfolio management prior to Research and Development (R&D) activities. Taking an active role with product development and manufacturing to ensure all relevant interaction towards suppliers drives resilience, innovation, sustainability and reduces complexity - achieving product cost targets.
* Collaboration - Foster collaboration with the R&D community, product management and Product Lifestyle Management (PLM) teams. Whilst driving collaboration within procurement.
* Strategy alignment and deployment - Ensure the product strategy and procurement strategy aligns, ensuring the procurement strategy supports the ambitions including sustainability and innovation goals of the PLM team. Introduce technology roadmaps and foster discussion multi-functionally. Ensure sourcing decisions follow the procurement strategy and safeguard security strategies.
* Early Supplier Involvement - Conduct innovation workshops and concept competitions/projects to achieve the best cost-benefit position.
* Supplier Management - Assess and develop suppliers from a technological standpoint to concentrate on the best suppliers.
* Sustainability - Consult on sustainable solutions and co-develop sustainable products: Consult and convince development teams to design and implement sustainable solutions in product design and procurement. Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to co-develop products that meet sustainability criteria and standards (RED KPIs and ECO criteria).
* Implement Carbon Shadow Pricing - Integrate carbon shadow pricing into the procurement decisions to account for the environmental impact of products and materials.
