We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and dynamic individual to take on the role of Senior Scrub Practitioner to provide leadership, management and support to the scrub team and who is responsible for providing a high standard of evidence based patient focused individualised care
We are opening two new theatres in our New Elective Centre, to provide High Volume Low Complexity cases in Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), Gynaecology and General Surgery. At present we have nine theatres specialising in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Urology, HANS, Ear Nose & Throat, Dental and Max-fax, the successful candidate will be rotated through out the different specialities spending on their experience.
The successful candidates must be able to demonstrate that they are enthusiastic, empathetic, professional and looking for an opportunity to join a hard-working dedicated team.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will ensure that patients receive the necessary care and treatment intraoperatively and postoperatively. This will be achieved through the application of specialist knowledge, skills andpractice.
This role requires close working relationships with a wide range of the multi-disciplinary teams, the Consultants, Deputy Chief Nurse, Head of Nursing, Matrons, and the junior members of the team. In order to succeed in this role, you will need to possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You will need to have the ability to deal with challenging situations in a fast paced environment in a professional and calm manner.
Successful candidates will need to be an NMC Registered Nurses or Registered Operating Department Practitioners HCPC, and be able to demonstrate that they possess a commitment to maintaining a very high standard of patient care.

Essential criteria
1. NMC Registered RN or HCPC Registered ODP
2. Experience within the speciality
3. Evidence of Continuous Professional Development
4. Relevant Post Registration Specialist Course
Desirable criteria
5. Practice Assessor/ Mentor
6. Surgical First Assistant
7. Leadership course/programme

8. Has excellent communication skills both written and verbal
