About the Role
Woolpit Health Centre is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and hardworking medical receptionist to join our busy reception team on a part-time basis for 20 hours per week. This role is ideal for those already working in healthcare or those starting a career in medical reception.
This key position supports the clinical team by directing patients to appropriate healthcare professionals or services and working as part of the multidisciplinary team, including physiotherapists and mental health nurses.
Responsibilities include managing patient interactions via telephone and face-to-face, and providing administrative support to ensure the smooth daily operation of the health centre.
Additional duties include:
* Opening and locking premises, maintaining security
* Processing and distributing mail
* Taking and passing on messages accurately
* Filing and retrieving paperwork and medical records
* Assisting patients with medical platforms like the NHS app
* Providing efficient reception services to patients and visitors
* Handling general enquiries and explaining surgery procedures
* Answering calls and directing them appropriately
* Managing patient appointments
* Monitoring and processing Anima requests with the triage clinician
* Maintaining accurate patient records and databases

The successful candidate will be:
* Flexible, reliable, and able to work under pressure
* Possessing a good telephone manner
* Confident and experienced in dealing with the public
