The School
The School of Humanities offers subjects like History, English Literature, Creative Writing, Religion, Media and Film, Geography, Politics, and International Relations. Our interdisciplinary Liberal Arts Foundation Year exemplifies our commitment to widening participation and social justice, featuring structured modules, pedagogic innovation, and student support. Many students progress to various degree programs within and outside the School.
The role
We seek a part-time (0.5 FTE) lecturer with expertise in modern history, politics, and international relations. Responsibilities include interdisciplinary teaching (lectures, seminars, workshops, tutorials, trips, skills sessions, team-teaching), module leadership, assessment, and student support. The team is collaborative, research-active, and committed to high-quality student experiences.
Key Requirements
A doctoral qualification in modern history, politics, or international relations is essential. Candidates should have teaching experience at undergraduate or level 3, demonstrate ongoing research and publication, and be willing to work towards Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy if not already held.
