Responsibilities
* Design and develop electronic circuits and systems, including analogue, digital, and power electronics.
* Develop and optimise battery management systems (BMS) and associated control electronics.
* Produce schematic designs and PCB layouts using industry‑standard CAD tools.
* Conduct simulation, analysis, and validation of electronic designs.
* Support prototype builds, testing, and debugging activities.
* Generate and maintain technical documentation (design specs, test procedures, reports).
* Ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g. IEC, ISO, defence standards where applicable).
* Collaborate with software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to ensure integrated system performance.
* Support design reviews, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Skills & Experience
* 3+ years of experience within an electronics business.
* Degree in Electronic Engineering or a closely related discipline.
* Proven experience in electronic design (analogue, digital, or power electronics).
* Strong understanding of circuit design, component selection, and system integration.
* Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (e.g. Altium, OrCAD, KiCad).
* Familiarity with test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators).
* Knowledge of embedded systems and microcontroller‑based design.
* Ability to troubleshoot and debug complex electronic systems.
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
* Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Desirable Skills & Experience
* Experience with battery technologies and battery management systems.
* Knowledge of safety‑critical or regulated environments (defence, aerospace, medical).
* Experience with EMC/EMI design and testing.
* Familiarity with embedded C/C++ or firmware development.
* Understanding of functional safety standards (e.g. IEC 61508).
* Experience with environmental testing and ruggedised system design.

Additional Information
Full‑time hours: Monday‑Friday 8am – 5pm, Friday 8am to 12.30pm.
Applicants must have the right to work in the UK and will be required to undergo Baseline Security Standard (BPSS) clearance.
