Tenancy Support & Wellbeing Advisor

37 hours per week

Up To £35,500 Per Annum Depending On Experience

Worthing Homes is a forward-looking housing association dedicated to providing affordable, high-quality homes and services to our local communities. We're a small but dynamic organisation, managing 4,000 homes serving over 10,000 residents across our range of properties from social housing to sheltered accommodation to shared ownership properties.

Our team is driven by our shared passion for supporting our local communities and making a positive impact on our customers' lives. We're at an exciting and transformative stage in our business, embracing innovative approaches and new ideas as we continue our journey toward achieving brilliant outcomes for our customers.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Tenancy Support & Wellbeing Adviser to join our team on a permanent basis. In this role you will be working alongside our Neighbourhood teams, supporting some of our most vulnerable residents sustain successful tenancies and improve their overall wellbeing.

About The Role

In this role you will be working closely with our residents - often in their homes and out in our communities - helping them sustain successful tenancies. This will include offering guidance, signposting, and practical assistance to help them maximise their income, access essential items, meet tenancy conditions, and improve their overall wellbeing. You'll provide time-limited casework to customers needing support, working alongside our Neighbourhood Team to address tenancy and estate management challenges. Taking a proactive, hands-on approach to case management, you'll empower residents to build resilience and maintain stable, successful tenancies.

A key focus of the role is early intervention-helping prevent evictions, reduce arrears and debt, and promoting the upkeep of homes. You'll support residents in navigating issues such as under-occupation, overcrowding, and safeguarding concerns while helping the organisation better understand and respond to vulnerability across our communities. You'll carry out Affordability Assessments for new nominees, identifying risks of tenancy failure, and providing the appropriate level of support to help maximise successful allocations. You'll also triage referrals for our Tenant Wellbeing Fund, ensuring the fund is used effectively. In addition, you'll provide benefit advice-signposting to external partners for more complex cases-and offering support to residents.

About You

We're looking for someone with outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with customers, colleagues and external partners. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential along with the ability to adapt your approach to suit different audiences and situations. You'll also need to be highly organised, able to work independently, and confident managing a busy workload with competing priorities.

Ideally, you'll have experience managing cases and supporting vulnerable individuals or families, with a solid understanding of signposting to and liaising with both support services and statutory agencies. A good knowledge of welfare benefits is also desirable.

We're also looking for a creative problem solver-someone who can think innovatively and develop practical solutions to complex challenges.

A full UK driving licence is required and access to your own car.
