Education and Qualifications
Degree or equivalent within relevant area of specialism – Music Performance
Knowledge and Skills
* Evidence of the ability to deliver consistently good or better teaching, learning and assessment
* Experience of managing and motivating learners within the 16-19 age group
* Ability to provide learning and tutorial support for students
* Ability to teach on a range of courses in the subject area, specifically music performance
* Excellent planning, organisation, IT and administrative skills, with the ability to see projects through to a successful conclusion
* High level of efficiency
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
* Ability to promote and recruit for courses
* Experience of the pastoral care of students, monitoring achievements and attendance
* Proficient in at least one musical instrument (including voice)
* Experience delivering, assessing and standardising Level 3 qualifications (UAL, BTEC or equivalent)
* Experience organizing music events, including liaising with external venues
* Professional experience and/or knowledge of the music industry
* Understanding of the needs of the 16-19 age group in education and employment, especially inner-city students from deprived backgrounds
* Understanding of safeguarding young people and vulnerable adults
* Ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children and young people/vulnerable adults
* Understanding of DAW software (Logic Pro)
