Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Verification Engineer to join Arm’s Solution Engineering FPGA Verification and Validation team on a permanent basis. The team is based in Cambridge, UK, and works at the forefront of embedded design focusing on Arm IP products.
We build physical hardware development platforms based around Arm’s custom SoC and FPGAs. These platforms are used for software development and validation activities for external partners, customers, and internal teams.
Your daily tasks will include verifying SoC RTL designs modified for FPGA, developing and maintaining verification testbenches, writing test cases in C, reusing test cases from internal teams, creating test plans, and developing automation tools using scripting languages like Python and Shell scripts.
If you seek a role combining hardware and software skills in an environment where you can contribute meaningfully and collaborate with a dedicated team building innovative SoC solutions, we look forward to your application!
Responsibilities:
* Define testing scenarios with design and verification teams across disciplines and develop tests accordingly.
* Contribute ideas to enhance testing scope and effectiveness.
Required Skills and Experience:
* Strong understanding of SoC verification using C test cases, hardware description languages (SystemVerilog, Verilog, VHDL).
* Experience with AMBA bus standards (AXI, AHB, APB, CHI).
* Proficiency with EDA simulation tools such as VCS, Questasim, Cadence.
* Experience with scripting languages like Perl and Python.
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Nice To Have Skills and Experience:
* Knowledge of computer architecture fundamentals.
* Experience with ARM-based designs and ARM System Architectures.
* Familiarity with ARM debugger and trace features (ARM DS, DSTREAM).
* Experience with verification methodologies (UVM, OVM, e).
* Understanding of Object-Oriented programming.
* Experience in porting peripheral driver software.
In Return:
You will broaden your expertise, face new challenges, and work with emerging technologies. Collaborating with software, SoC implementation, and verification teams, you'll engage in deep technical discussions, leveraging your skills to foster relationships with external ODMs, contractors, and partners.
