Team members collaborate across engineering, sales, and customer support to deliver measurable environmental and business value. The group are about to launch a financial arm providing large scale funding of ESG decarbonisation packages aimed at the budget deficit in social and public sector housing for sustainable measures, with a particular focus on the harder to heat social homes currently neglected by UK Government grant schemes.
Role Description This is a full-time, hybrid Senior Technical Sales Manager role based in Romsey, with flexibility for part-time work from home. The Senior Technical Sales Manager will lead the technical sales cycle from prospecting and qualification through solution design, proposal development, and contract closure, with scope to develop new technical or product solutions to meet demand, with a prmary focus on carbon reduction, packages of net-zero technologies, reducing fuel poverty under our social equity mandate. Responsibilities include building and managing a pipeline of opportunities, delivering technical presentations and product demonstrations, preparing proposals and ROI analyses, and negotiating commercial terms with new and existing clients. The role will oversee key accounts, ensuring high levels of satisfaction, retention, and growth, while coordinating closely with engineering and operations teams to translate customer requirements into robust solutions. The Senior Technical Sales Manager will also provide technical support during pre- and post-sale stages, gather market and competitor insights, mentor junior sales team members, and contribute to sales forecasting and strategic planning.
Qualifications
* Strong technical sales and sales management skills, with experience leading complex B2B sales cycles and closing high-value deals.
* Proven account management and customer relationship development skills, including identifying growth opportunities within existing accounts.
* Experience providing technical support and solution consultation, including interpreting technical requirements and liaising with engineering teams.
* Demonstrated customer service skills, with a commitment to responsiveness, clear communication, and long-term client satisfaction.
* Background in sustainability, energy, engineering, or related technical fields; familiarity with carbon reduction or net-zero solutions is highly desirable. The ability to identify new product options to meet growing demand and iterate these concepts through to completion.
* Strong presentation, negotiation, and written communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, managing time independently while collaborating with on-site and remote colleagues.
* Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, business, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
* Experience using CRM systems, sales analytics tools, and standard office software to manage pipelines and produce accurate forecasts.
