Healthcare Support Worker (Band 3)
Part‑time role (up to 33.75 hours per week) with the Specialist Children's Short Break Team at Dragon Square. The service provides overnight short breaks for children and young people with severe learning disabilities and complex needs. Sponsorship is not available for this role.
Job Summary
An exciting opportunity to support children and young people, working closely with Registered Nurses, other Healthcare Support Workers and a multidisciplinary team, including school, social workers, consultants, specialist nurses, community nurses and families.
Responsibilities
* Provide support and spend therapeutic time with an allocated group of service users.
* Promote and support physical health, comfort, wellbeing and recovery, and assist in re‑establishing place in community.
* Assist Registered Professionals with assessments, care planning, implementation and evaluation of individualised care plans.
* Support and supervise junior staff members as required.
* Communicate with service users, carers and multidisciplinary team using IT and other methods, and report health status and care aims.
* Maintain professional boundaries, support equality and diversity, and report risks of danger, harm or abuse.
Qualifications & Experience
* Experience working with people with learning disabilities and/or children as part of a multi‑disciplinary team.
* Diploma Level 3 in residential childcare, or willingness to work toward this qualification.
