Role Overview
You will be responsible for producing accurate 2D and 3D CAD designs using SolidWorks, creating detailed fabrication and assembly drawings, and managing Bills of Materials (BOMs). This is a hands-on role where you'll collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to ensure designs meet client and business requirements.
Key Duties:
Produce detailed manufacturing drawings and layouts from 3D models (SolidWorks).
Develop fabrication and assembly drawings, including BOMs.
Manage BOMs within the company ERP system.
Maintain up-to-date drawings and parts databases.
Work closely with internal teams to ensure designs meet specifications.
Adhere to health & safety and quality assurance standards.
Essential Skills & Experience
Strong background in sheet metal design and steel fabrication.
Experience as a Design Engineer or Mechanical Draughtsman within a similar industry.
Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
Minimum qualification: National Diploma (or equivalent in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering).
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
