Join Our Team as a 1:1 GCSE Science Tutor – Help Students Reach Their Full Potential
Teaching Personnel is seeking dedicated and knowledgeable GCSE Science tutors to deliver high-impact, one-to-one academic support. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students by helping them build confidence, master key concepts, and achieve success in their Science GCSEs.
About the Role
As a 1:1 Science tutor, you will work closely with individual students who need extra support in Biology, Chemistry, and/or Physics. Your sessions will be tailored to the student’s specific needs, helping them to overcome challenges, improve their understanding of core content, and prepare effectively for their exams.
Tutoring will take place in students' homes or at designated community locations, with flexible hours ranging from 1 to 15 hours per week, depending on your availability.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver one-to-one tutoring in Science at GCSE level, focusing on Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or combined science
* Plan and deliver personalised lessons that align with the national curriculum and exam board specifications
* Help students develop effective study habits, revision strategies, and exam techniques
* Track student progress and adjust your approach to ensure continuous improvement
* Build strong, supportive relationships with students to enhance motivation and engagement
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for individuals who:
* Have strong subject knowledge in Science at GCSE level (ideally in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics)
* Are experienced in teaching or tutoring, with a solid understanding of the GCSE curriculum and exam requirements
* Can explain scientific concepts clearly and accessibly
* Demonstrate patience, professionalism, and a student-focused approach
* Are passionate about education and committed to helping students succeed
Requirements
* Experience teaching or tutoring Science at secondary school level
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* A proactive and flexible attitude
* The ability to work independently and manage your own schedule
* A DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
