Overview
As an Activity Coordinator in Carmarthenshire, you’ll help make the everyday remarkable for the people we support. We are dedicated to supporting those with learning disabilities to live a fulfilled and enriched life in the community. Role: Activity Coordinator. Location: Carmarthenshire, with an office base in Carmarthen. Hours: 20.
What you will be doing
* Support people with learning disabilities to develop their skills and increase independence.
* Deliver a programme of engaging community activities and training to help individuals achieve their goals.
* Encourage and enable individuals to access and participate in their local community.
* Adapt activities and training to suit different levels of understanding and communication needs.
* Build relationships and collaborate with local organisations and agencies to create opportunities for the people we support.
* Promote inclusion by ensuring participants have a say in the design and delivery of projects.
* Maintain records, track progress, and evaluate the impact of activities.
* Be a positive ambassador for Cartrefi Cymru, promoting our values and strengthening our reputation.
* Identify gaps in local services and find creative, sustainable ways to address them.
What you will need
* A passion for supporting people to live fulfilling lives.
* The ability to encourage and empower individuals to make their own choices.
* Strong communication skills to interact with participants, colleagues, and external professionals.
* The ability to adapt and be creative in delivering activities and training.
* Patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to person-centred support.
* Organisational skills to plan and coordinate activities effectively.
* IT skills to maintain records and communicate efficiently.
* The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* A proactive and motivated attitude.
* A full, clean driving licence and access to a vehicle.
* Welsh language ability is preferable but not essential.
