Overview
Sefton seeks a senior leader to drive improvements across the full spectrum of children’s social care, from early help to leaving care. The role will embed a joined‑up, collaborative approach, reinforcing financial oversight, workforce stability and innovative service delivery.
Responsibilities
Lead strategy and operational delivery across complex systems, building relationships across the Council and with partners to embed a joined‑up, collaborative approach.
Strengthen financial oversight, improve workforce stability and ensure resources are used effectively, particularly in high‑cost areas such as residential care.
Offer challenge, set direction and drive sustainable improvement, while leading with creativity and ambition to shape services that better meet the needs of children and families.
Represent Sefton regionally within the Liverpool City Region and wider Cheshire and Merseyside networks, influencing the agenda and ensuring Sefton’s voice is heard.
Qualifications
Qualified social worker with strong practice expertise.
Experience leading across complex systems and driving change in large organisations.
Ability to present and influence at senior level and manage cross‑agency working.
