A specialist technology consultancy delivering secure digital solutions for Defence and National Security projects is looking for a Senior VCF Engineer to support complex, high-assurance environments. This is a hands-on contract role where you’ll work on critical infrastructure programmes that demand reliability, innovation, and secure delivery.
Role Overview:
* Clearance: MUST be DV cleared
* Industry: Defence / National Security / Secure Technology
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Leading the deployment and orchestration of VMware Cloud Foundation environments across management and workload domains
* Designing and implementing secure NSX networking solutions, including advanced routing, load balancing, and micro‑segmentation policies
* Managing and optimising VCF Operations tooling for monitoring, automation, logging, and proactive platform management
* Working closely with infrastructure and storage teams to integrate enterprise‑grade storage platforms and ensure resilience
* Owning lifecycle management activities across the VMware stack, including upgrades, patching, and compliance management
* Supporting secure authentication and identity integration across critical management platforms
* Collaborating with architects, engineers, and delivery teams to solve complex infrastructure challenges in highly secure environments
Main Skills Needed:
* Strong experience with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF 8.x / 9.x), including SDDC Manager and large‑scale environments
* Deep technical expertise across VMware NSX and security‑focused virtual networking
* Experience with Aria Operations, Aria Automation, and log management tooling
* Background working within highly secure environments such as Defence, Government, or Critical National Infrastructure
* VMware certifications such as VCP‑VMC or VCIX‑NV
* Strong troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and infrastructure optimisation skills
* Ability to work collaboratively within complex technical delivery teams
