Overview
This post is for an individual seeking a career in gastroenterology and/or wishing to develop teaching expertise. The role involves coordinating and delivering the Newcastle University Undergraduate Medicine clinical teaching programme, with approximately 20 hours per week per annual average dedicated to teaching, and undertaking clinical duties and professional development for the remaining 20 hours per week. The Trust has been recognised by Health Education England for the quality of training provided to undergraduate and foundation students.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate and deliver undergraduate medical teaching for the Newcastle University programme.
* Support a busy gastroenterology ward, including clinical duties and specialist clinic support.
* Participate in student induction sessions and assessment sessions alongside consultants.
* Attend and contribute to a variety of clinical sessions as outlined in the job plan.
* Receive training as a simulation training faculty member.
Qualifications
* Registered Medical Practitioner.
* Training and/or experience in gastroenterology and clinical teaching preferred.
