Thurrock Council is serious about tackling fraud committed against the authority and the wider public sector, ensuring that public money is safeguarded. The Counter Fraud Investigation Team works with Thurrock and Castle Point Council and the various departments contained within. The team is looking for an experienced accredited financial investigations practitioner with a background in local authority fraud investigation.
Operational officers are expected to be confident in delivering criminal enquiries using their knowledge and experience to apply the best tools and strategies to address fraud, including through partnership working. As a key member of the team you will have experience in crime affecting the public sector. The service is a 24/7 function and you will be expected to work unsociable hours when necessary to achieve our objectives.
