A leading manufacturer, operating from a rural site with state-of-the-art production facility is seeking a proactive and detail-driven Quality Assurance Assistant to support the wider QA team. This position will be contributing to a high-performing, sustainability-focused production environment. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting and maintaining QA systems, supporting audits, managing documentation, and helping ensure compliance with industry and customer standards. What you can expect: Monday to Friday 40 hours per week Competitive salary - £35000 per annum Full-time, permanent contract Site-based position on the Herefordshire/ Powys border Role offers professional development and progression opportunities What you will be doing: Responding to customer complaints within agreed timeframes Maintaining accurate and timely QA documentation and records Reviewing product inspection results and updating trackers/systems Assisting in the development and maintenance of SOPs relating to food safety and quality Supporting compliance across HACCP, GMP, BRCGS, and ISO 14001 standards Delivering training to production staff on quality procedures and standards Participating in root cause investigations for non-conformities and quality incidents Supporting implementation of corrective and preventative actions (CAPAs) Contributing to ongoing quality and process improvement initiatives What we are looking for: Minimum 3 years experience in a Quality Assurance role Internal Auditor qualification with practical audit experience Level 2 or 3 HACCP certification with hands-on team participation Level 3 Food Safety certification would be desirable Strong working knowledge of BRCGS requirements Strong IT skills including MS Office and QA systems Highly organised, detail-oriented, and analytical Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to build strong cross-functional relationships and influence effectively Desirable: Experience in multi-format production facilities (glass, PET, can, Tetra Pak) Exposure to continuous improvement or Lean manufacturing projects Recruitment Direct are working as an employment agency in relation to this vacancy, you must be able to prove your legal right to work in the UK to apply
