Could you be the Boaz Trust’s first Head of Fundraising?
Boaz is a Manchester-based charity founded 20 years ago by Dave Smith as an outworking of his Christian faith. This reflected his desire to see some of the most marginalised people in our communities’ access safety, justice, hospitality and kindness. As a provider of shared accommodation and specialist support for refugees and people seeking asylum, the Boaz Trust has grown significantly since 2004. Last year we provided trauma-informed and person-centred support for more than 600 people facing homelessness after seeking safety in the UK through our floating
support and the shared properties that we manage.
We’re now looking for a strategic,relationship-focused fundraiser to join our senior team as we enter the next phase of our development. This is an exciting opportunity to help us expand our impact and do even more to end destitution amongst people seeking sanctuary in our local communities.
As our firstHead of Fundraising, you will play a central role in developing our income streams into a strong and sustainable fundraising programme. Your work will directly support our ability to help more people who are facing homelessness because of the impact of their immigration status, including refugees andpeople refused asylum.
If you have a proven track record in growingindividual giving,churchandcommunity fundraising, and you’re anexperienced and empathetic managerwho enjoys building teams and relationships, we’d love to hear from you.
Thestarting salary for this role is £38,391 – £40,198per year, depending on experience. Most of our team works in a hybrid way, combining office and home-based working. Much of our supporter base is based in and around Greater Manchester, and so we think it’s beneficial to be based within reasonable commuting distance of our office in Hulme, Manchester (recognising that might look different for all of us!). We’re also very open to exploring flexible arrangements such as reduced or compressed hours for the right candidate.
