We’re excited to launch our Level 2 Engineering (Panel Wiring) Apprenticeship, starting in September 2026. This is a hands‑on, earn‑while‑you‑learn opportunity for people who want a real career in a fast‑growing, high‑tech industry.
About The Role
What You’ll Do
As a TES Power apprentice, you’ll work alongside experienced engineers to build and wire high‑spec electrical panels and switchgear used in modern data centres around the world.
You’ll gain practical experience in:
* Panel wiring and switchgear assembly
* Mechanical and electrical engineering skills
* Understanding how power systems support data centres
* Working in a technology‑driven manufacturing environment
This is real engineering work from day one, not just classroom learning.
Programme Structure
* Duration: 2 years
* 4 days per week work‑based learning at our Ballykelly Data Centre Campus
* 1 day per week at North West Regional College (NWRC), Limavady
Qualifications
* Level 2 OCN NI Diploma in Engineering
* Level 3 EAL Certificate in Panel Wiring
These qualifications are delivered alongside each other to give you a strong balance of theory and practical skills.
Future Progression
On successful completion of Level 2, you may progress to:
* Level 3 Engineering Apprenticeship
* Higher Level Apprenticeships (HLA)
* HNC and HND qualifications in Electrical Engineering
All progression routes are fully funded, offering a clear pathway from apprentice to qualified engineer.

You don’t need experience, just the right mindset.

* Have GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) or above in Maths and English
* Have a genuine interest in engineering, technology or how things work
* Enjoy practical, hands‑on learning
* Are reliable, motivated and keen to develop new skills
* Work well as part of a team

Recruitment Process
Our recruitment process is designed to make sure we find the right people for the programme, while giving applicants the best chance to show their potential.
* Applications close: Friday 15th May
* Aptitude Testing: June
Applicants will be invited to complete aptitude testing to assess their suitability for an engineering apprenticeship environment.
* Interviews: July
The strongest‑performing candidates from the aptitude tests will be selected for interview at our Ballykelly Data Centre Campus.
* Offers:
Successful candidates will receive conditional offers, subject to GCSE results being achieved in August, where applicable.
