Hours: Monday-Friday, 08:00-16:00
Pay Rate: Band 6 - £25 LTD equivalent
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the inpatient OT service at North Devon District Hospital. This role will involve working flexibly across Orthopaedics and Medical wards, supporting safe and effective patient discharges and promoting functional independence.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake comprehensive OT assessments for patients within acute and inpatient settings.
Plan and deliver patient-centred treatment and rehabilitation programmes.
Contribute to discharge planning, ensuring safe transition home or to community settings.
Provide expert advice and education to patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
Support prevention of hospital admissions through timely intervention and assessment.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with HCPC and Trust standards.
Requirements
Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
Current HCPC registration.
NHS inpatient experience (orthopaedic and/or general medical preferred).
Excellent communication, assessment, and discharge planning skills.
Ability to work both autonomously and within a multi-disciplinary team.
Up-to-date mandatory training and right to work in the UK.
