Description Remarkable people, trusted by clients to design and advance the world The Commercial functions vision is; realising returns, managing risk, maximising opportunities Wood is currently recruiting a Commercial Assistant on a staff basis to support the commercial team within the Shell One Gas project team based in Lowestoft. This role offers a hybrid working arrangement usually in the pattern of 4/1 or 3/2 office/home split, weighted in favour of being more office based in the early stages to make sure the candidates are supported, trained and made to feel part of the team. At a high level, the job objectives are, under supervision: Maximise commercial performance while managing business/project risk (pre- and post-contract) Commercialisation of a sub-Business Groups service offerings to support business growth and Strategy Ensure compliance with relevant commercial/contracting policies Resolution of disputes/claims and cash collection issues Embedding effective commercial governance and assurance across the sub-Business Group / Project / Portfolio of Projects Supporting the tender governance process for the sub-Business Group Designing the future. Transforming the world P&E offers a wide range of opportunities which will allow you to develop your skills across a portfolio of onshore projects in different sectors. Our current portfolio includes green hydrogen and fuel switching, as well as supporting local clients with energy transition. Additionally, we work on UK refineries, petrochemical facilities, fine chemicals and pharmaceutical facilities. We have a number of clients who we are working with to design their pilot plants to test exciting new technologies, with a view to partnering with them as they move to design and build full scale commercial facilities. Ensuring that contracts are set up correctly in the appropriate business systems. Ensuring that invoices are prepared in a timely and accurate manner and include full contract entitlement. The administrative development and maintenance of Commercial Handovers and Plans. The development of rates, estimates, pricing, and commercial models. The administration of risk management processes. Qualifications: 3 A Levels (or equivalent) in relevant subjects e.g. Maths, Law, Business Studies Degree in Quantity Surveying, Law, or Business Studies preferred, but not required Knowledge, skills and experience: Working knowledge and experience in Commercial or Financial administration and procedures Personal attributes: Utmost integrity Demonstrate commitment to Wood and client core values Demonstrate commitment to Wood Commercial Process and Procedures Excellent communication skills, written, oral, and presentation Ability to work as part of a team Ability to prioritize key tasks and solve problems for the team Strong use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
